Yes, our simulation environment responds accurately to changes in kVp, mAs, and Source to Image Distance (SID). With incorrect exposures you will see incorrect density & contrast on your image. This is something we introduced to enable students to appreciate exposure factors. However once viewed in its raw form - post processing is available so that the students can experience the best of the screen-film and digital eras.

Yes. Both editions are designed to work together. Learners access both through the same online environment. The simulation space they choose determines which environment is used to launch the scenario they wish to complete.

Steam needs to be installed on every computer you use with VR, however one Steam account can be logged on multiple computers. While using the same account will not allow you to launch the same title from the account's Steam library at the same time, that does not include our simulation software. If you prefer not to create an standard account with Steam, you can also apply for a free Steam Café licence. You can find more information on this topic here.

We are unable to accept cheques. The banking system in New Zealand have, like many other countries, phased out the use of checks. This is due to many reasons including, sustainability measures, Covid-19 and anti-money laundering. We do accept internet banking, bank transfer, and credit cards.

The self-assessments are designed specifically to encourage exploration and engage students in discussion as part of a wider teaching programme run by teachers. The idea being that a students will go away and look up an issue they don’t know the answer to and as a result, will learn and retain more information relating to it. As such, the answers to the questions are not revealed to the learner. Teachers/lecturers can utilise this to their advantage by asking students to complete a particular module, then provoking discussion around their findings.

Yes, Everything you do in the simulation is represented accurately on your image. If you forget to position a side marker or over rotate a joint this will all be obvious on your image(s).

Yes. Our underlying platform allows multiple virtual spaces to be organised into suites which can be managed and controlled remotely. This can be used to group multiple simulation spaces that share the same physical room, or to group simulation spaces based by campus.

We offer both types of systems in the simulation to enable a student to experience as many different environments as possible during their training.

This misconception persists to some extent. Progress has been made from the old fashioned “see one, do one, teach one” style of education in healthcare. It is now widely recognised that for safety and ethical reasons it is not appropriate to learn the techniques on real patients. Using VR simulation, students are empowered to immerse themselves in realistic situations without safety concerns for themselves or their patients and without worrying about mistakes that could harm patients.
